Watch for quality Shorthorn shows at:
Paris Fall Fair
Erin Fall Fair
Brampton Fall Fair
Markham Fall Fair
The Markham Fair has been designated as the All-Ontario Shorthorn Show. This show is very well attended and attracts the very best of Ontario Shorthorns. The All-Ontario Show is also the home of the All-Ontario Futurity. The Futurity is a special part of the show, where top breeders are asked to nominate their cows that they feel will have next year’s best calves. The resulting calves are then eligible to show in the futurity for cash prizes. The most prestigious show in Ontario is the RAWF in November in Toronto. This is a Shorthorn show that attracts only the very top Shorthorns from Ontario. It is also well-attended by herds from provinces east of Ontario making it the largest and highest quality Shorthorn show in Eastern Canada. The RAWF hosts the Canadian National Show every third year. It will host the National Show in 2008. The RAWF is one the largest and most prestigious agricultural exhibition in the world making it a very popular destination for international visitors.

Sales
The OSA holds the Fall Classic Sale every October. This sale tries to meet the needs of every breeder. The Fall Classic Sale offers high-quality, commercial-type purebreds as well as very high quality show prospects. The OSA also takes part in a Shorthorn sale at the RAWF most years. This is a smaller, but very high quality sale.

Looking for a winner?
At the 2006 RAWF the Grand Champion Female, and Supreme Champion Shorthorn was purchased through a previous Ontario Fall Classic Shorthorn Sale. The Grand Champion Bull, the Senior Champion Female and the Heifer Calf Champion were all purchased through previous Shorthorn sales held at the RAWF. Both sales have earned their reputation for being venues to find top show prospects.
